Wiley Walker and Gene Sullivan When My Blue Moon Turns to Gold Again Live and Let Live

The Not bad
Guitar Theory
Trap

Most guitar players think the more than they acquire…

… The more they study about scales, theory, and chords…

That eventually it's all going to connect.

They're wrong.

Afterwards 22 years of playing and education guitar professionally, recording multiple albums, and owning a individual Guitar School…

I sentry guitar players autumn into this same trap over and over once again. (I did likewise, years ago).

Allow me explain…

When we first start learning guitar...

Nosotros all learn our starting time chords and a few bits and pieces of songs we recognize.

For most "casual" guitarists, that's as far as they get - and that'due south fine...

But for the select few who desire to become more serious - who want to do things like improvise, jam, write music, and add your own artistic touches to songs you dear

You start to "learn" more.

You might go out there and watch videos, read manufactures, or become advice from a friend or even local teachers...

Or yous might commencement to learn nearly things like the circumvolve of 5ths, the CAGED organization, chord chasing, and countless other confusing concepts similar keys, scales, modes, etc.

But for 97% of guitar players…

Little practice they know they're falling into the most damaging guitar-learning trap of all fourth dimension

It's not long before you lot may start to feel like you can't "apply" what you larn…

Your playing might sound a little "dull" or "mechanical"...

And information technology can feel as if yous're always missing something important.

Yous larn more, yet instead of "connecting the dots", things simply seem to become more dis-connected.

It tin can experience like the more than you learn, the less you "know"…

Like y'all're on a hamster wheel - the harder you lot hunt it, the faster it goes out of achieve…

And the more than frustrating it gets.

And if yous don't find your manner out quick… the cycle continues…

Spinning your wheels and wasting practice time just "noodling"...

Getting so sick of playing the same former stuff… then fed up with feeling limited… it drives you nuts!

You may even start to question whether you should only put the guitar downwards for good

"Virtually people go to their graves with their music still locked up within them"

That makes me Ill! And information technology should make you sick too!

Considering information technology'due south and so easy to avoid!

For guitar players who have fallen into this trap…

I merely want to grab them by the collar and shake them and say...

"WAKE Upwards! You're going downward the wrong path! You're chasing an ILLUSION!"

The biggest mistake guitar players make is that they effort to Larn their way to PLAYING the guitar...

… Thinking that if they just keep learning…

… If they just keep practicing…

… Eventually it will all connect.

And it WON'T!

It Tin can'T!

Because

it'due south impossible to THINK your way to PLAYING well!

Legendary Guitarist Joe Laissez passer famously said "You lot can't think and play"

Because it doesn't work that way! The two are opposites!

THINKING… is what causes all the PLAYING issues in the showtime place!

And somehow, all along the way, nobody bothers to tell you…

THINKING your mode through all that theory, expecting it to magically make you PLAY meliorate, is climbing up the wrong ladder!

And look, information technology's not your fault! In this "information overload" age…

It'south all too like shooting fish in a barrel for the basics to get covered upwards and forgotten…

Peculiarly when you have publishers peddling all sorts of books similar "ane,001 chords to know"…

And the "Everything you could perchance know in four lifetimes about music theory" books...

Or those videos that say stuff like "10 scales you MUST know!"

"MUST" know? Says who?! Some of the greats made entire CAREERS out of just 1 or 2 scales!

Don't get me wrong, there's some good information out in that location. And certain, you can memorize some stuff...

Only you can never "memorize" (AKA "think") your style to PLAYING well...

Bottom line? The "learning loop" is a never-ending treadmill!

And the sooner you become off, the better.

After all… simply think most it. Publishers need to go on selling books…

Colleges need to continue selling music degrees…

And online "guitar gurus" need to continue people "liking", "subscribing", and WATCHING their videos!

Otherwise… they'd all go out of business!

Here's a surprising fact…

I've taught Music Theory Graduates, a guitarist with over 5 DECADES of experience, and fifty-fifty a performer on BROADWAY

Merely when it comes to guitar, for some reason everybody and their brother has been fooled into thinking you have to be a genius to "go information technology." HA!

Do basketball players sit in a library and written report the exact angle their arms should exist to shoot a complimentary throw…

… The proper pressure to inflate a basketball…

… Or how many inches they should bend downward earlier jumping to get a rebound? No way!

What practice y'all take to "Larn" to play basketball?

Distill the ball. Shoot it in the hoop. That's basically it!

Sure in that location are "rules" - merely the rest comes from PLAYING PLAYING PLAYING!

Look, at the end of the solar day...

Nobody cares to hear how much you KNOW about guitar, they want to hear y'all PLAY the darned thing!

And in guild to offset PLAYING, you take to

stop THINKING!

I'd exist willing to bet that if you lot had to choose between "analyzing" your way through a 200-page theory volume, versus only picking up your guitar and playing freely…

You'd choose to play freely every single time, correct?

So the question is: "How?"...

How do they brand information technology look so like shooting fish in a barrel?

What'due south that basic, "long-lost" central noesis of guitar playing that players in the 60's, lxx'due south, and fourscore's knew - before the internet?

Information technology's what I consider to be the simplest, nigh overlooked aspect of playing guitar today

That's why I'chiliad giving The Ultimate Atomic number 82 Guitar Lightbulb Moment Away for FREE, right here on this page…

Oh, and there's no tedious or mindless "theory" whatsoever

Equally soon every bit you become your gratis class, you'll immediately "go" how information technology all works…

And y'all'll be flowing freely - striking the right notes that sound good to you - in a thing of a few minutes…

In fact, you'll be surprised how impressed other people will be when they hear you play - even when you lot just play a few simple notes.

And information technology's and so easy, a guitar player who's simply been playing a month could practise information technology…

Withal it's the One thing some guitar players accept been searching for, for years!

Better yet...

I fully believe if you DON'T larn what's in this free grade, and then you'll never fully "connect it all together"
